Notes - Working out, Ticking off Cooper, and more!

Print A few notes this fine, floodless Friday:
- Cooper's mad at me. I left him at home. Also, I'm at a Starbucks, which means I'm totally wired right now. It's my new Friday routine to go hang out and write in a cafe. I started buying Dunkin Donuts coffee and making it at home for my daily fix, because it's way cheaper, but there's still something awesome about getting out once in awhile.
- Or maybe I just like being cliche. It doesn't get more cliche than whipping out your Mac laptop in a Starbucks.
- I'm sorry for not going to a Port City Java, Wilmington. Next week, for sure!
- Cooper's also mad because I haven't let him blog again. I need to. This blog's gotten kinda heavy the past few days. We need his return. Maybe this weekend?
- Working out is so much harder now than when I was in college. What's up with that? In college, I could spend an hour and a half in the weightroom, five or six days a week, like it was nothing. Since I graduated, I don't think I've been to a gym more than three times in a week. Got all motivated and got up and went this morning, and left after 40 minutes. Weak sauce!
- I just discovered this guy, Chris Balleifjdklj something or other. His last name's hard to spell, but his website's awesome. Great resource for writers. Was reading his feature article in Writer's Digest about how to make money as a freelancer these days. Great ideas in there. One was to find a focus for your blog that is something readers will be passionate about. I feel like I've finally zeroed in on that with the forthcoming re-re-launch of The Lighthouse Project.
- The Lighthouse Project is coming back, for real. I know it's what I'm supposed to focus on and build my website around now. I'll continue writing a lot of sports features, and other features, for other magazines and such. Of course I will. I love writing great stories. But God is a passion of mine. Discovering Him, and recognizing His love for us in the midst of this chaotic, confusing world. TLP posts were always well-received and generated a huge response, and honestly, I'm not sure why I quit it. Twice. I think it was because I wanted to put so much time into them, time I didn't have. Well, I'm going to find a way to make it work now. Stoked!
- If you're in the Wilmington/Leland area, put next Saturday, Oct. 9, on your calendars. I'll be at RBR Books in Leland's Waterford shopping center from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., signing books, and I'd love to see you all come out!
All right, that's all for now. Lots of writing to do today.
Love you all, have a great weekend!
- Brandon
