What God Wants You To Know
Print
On Friday, RelevantMagazine.com published my column about Todd in its Deeper Walk section, based off the story I posted a few months ago in The Lighthouse Project. This is one of my favorite stories I've ever written, and I was thrilled to find a place for it to "really" get published instead of just here at BS.com. The column I submitted to them was about 1,000 words long, so it was a super condensed version of Todd's story....but nonetheless, I was happy with how it turned out and just stoked to share it on a larger platform.
It's worth mentioning that Relevant doesn't pay diddly for writers posting on their website. It's all about sharing something one's compelled to write, though. If you're a writer, you write, and if you can find someone to publish it, you go for it.
I love how the editor there titled the piece, too. "What God Wants You To Know." I'm going to start using that as a tagline, and hopefully turn this into something of a series at Relevant's website. I know tons of stories like this one, and again, so excited to have somewhere bigger to share them.
Other Notes:
- I am working on two new entries for The Lighthouse Project. I hoped to get one up by Monday of last week, but that didn't happen. Hoping to get one up by tonight. We'll see. It's going to be a rough day, because....
- I have to go to the dentist today from 12 to 3. Gotta get three crowns replaced that were put on when I was about 10 years old. That is going to kill. Gonna hurt bad. My mouth, and my bank account. It's absurd, how expensive stuff like this is.
My teeth, and my dentist, clearly don't realize I'm some poor, struggling writer. I've been like, depressed, all weekend, and I think this is a big reason why. I hate going to the dentist enough already. Sucks even more when you're paying the guy to make you miserable for half the day.
So yeah, happy Monday, people. Mine's going to be crap. So do me a favor, and make sure yours is good, OK?
Thanks.

Enjoyed this website. Really cool to see your stuff spreading to other sites. Way to go.
Thanks!
Hi Brandon,
I'm on chapter 15 of your book about Ant. It's a signed copy that your grandmother obtained for us. I'm not much of a "reader" unless something jumps out at me early on. Your book did. I'm impressed that you put all of those details together. Must have been a lengthy process, but as your granny told me, you lived part of it.
Thanks for your effort in getting this in print. To add to my enjoyment, I have a good friend who went to Atlantic Christian in the dark ages and had the DVD of the last few seconds of that amazing game. This was putting the cart before the horse, but has added to my enjoyment of your book.
Best of luck to you in your career
