Intro

I'm Brandon Sneed. I wrote the book The Edge of Legend, I'm a journalist for GQ, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN.com, and I edit HeyGoodCall.com

I live for great stories—finding them, telling them, living them. This is a running log of all that. It's a great life. (Read this, my short take on why stories are all that matter.)

Keep up with me on Twitter and Facebook

Hey Wilson, come get your copy of The Edge of Legend (book about Ant Atkinson) from me, personally!

I'm going to be in Wilson and at Barton College a LOT this weekend promoting The Edge of Legend, my book about Barton basketball hero, Wilson hometown legend, and all-around inspiring dude Ant Atkinson. (Maybe that should have been its title?) Here's the schedule. Would love to see you somewhere at some point.

I'm stoked about it. It's Barton's Homecoming weekend, and that's always a good time. Some of my funnest (I know, that's not a good word) memories from college were from Homecoming weekend. Couldn't ask for a more fitting time to shamelessly promote and hawk my books!

If you don't know much about the book yet, trust me, it's good, and no, I'm not just saying that because I wrote it. For all the details about it, and to see what some way more famous and knowledgeable and thus, more credible, people have said about it, check out the website, EdgeOfLegend.com

Everywhere I go, I'll have books available for $15 a pop. Recommend paying by cash or check.

Thursday, Oct. 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. - I'll be at Greenfield School's capital campaign kickoff celebration, selling and signing books. Rumor has it that Ant himself will be at this one. I'm not just saying that. I'm not coordinating this, a lady from Greenfield Alumni Relations is, and she said she's talking to Ant about him possibly being there. I'm trying not to rope him into too many other events because I know he's a super busy dude and I don't want to take advantage of his amazing kindness, so I haven't talked to him too much about it, but Greenfield Alumni Relations Lady is trying to get him there, so who knows? Either way, I'll be there, signing copies of the book, so come on by and say hey!

Friday, Oct. 22 - Friday is going to be a HUGE day. You know I mean it because I typed HUGE in ALL CAPS. TWICE. Here's the schedule:

10 a.m. - Guest lecturing at a Barton journalism class.

11 a.m. - Guest lecturing at another Barton journalism class.

1:15 p.m. - Guest lecturing at a Greenfield college prep class.

3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - Book signing in Kenly at the Kenly News office.

6:30 - 8 p.m. - Book signing at the Barton Hall of Fame Reception in Wilson Gym on the Barton College campus. (No ticket required to get to my table!)

Saturday, Oct. 23 - 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Basically, I'll be hanging out at the Barton College Campus Bookstore all day. I'll be in and out periodically. Hey, I gotta eat! But come on by!
