Intro

I'm Brandon Sneed. I wrote the book The Edge of Legend, I'm a journalist for GQ, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN.com, and I edit HeyGoodCall.com

I live for great stories—finding them, telling them, living them. This is a running log of all that. It's a great life. (Read this, my short take on why stories are all that matter.)

Keep up with me on Twitter and Facebook

$50 million of your money gets spent each year to pay people to sit in empty rooms, and more fun facts!

I had a pretty epic blog post planned for today. However, I respect people's privacy, and the person I wrote about asked me not to run it. That's fair. It was pretty personal stuff.

So instead, I'll share this video I just watched. I knew I shouldn't have watched it the moment I saw the status of the person who shared it on Facebook: "Government spending is out of control."

I'm happy and content with my state of mind when it comes to politics these days. Which is basically to laugh and shrug things off and write books and stories and other things people hopefully enjoy reading. Most politicians, at least the most powerful ones, seem convinced that (1) we are all idiots and (2) that they are entitled to do whatever they want. It's sad. It's also frustrating. One day, when I get old and crotchety, I'll probably write a really mean book about politics. Or I'll just go to Washington and yell at old politicians' busts in museums and whatnot, because I'll have gone senile.

That'll be fun, too.

But until then, I give you this video.

Sometimes, I wish I didn't know so much.

Then I wish there wasn't so much to know.

You'll see what I mean.

Enjoy!
