Intro

I'm Brandon Sneed. I wrote the book The Edge of Legend, I'm a journalist for GQ, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN.com, and I edit HeyGoodCall.com

I live for great stories—finding them, telling them, living them. This is a running log of all that. It's a great life. (Read this, my short take on why stories are all that matter.)

And the win goes to the fan

Bob -- I'm calling him Bob, I don't know his real name -- jumps onto the field and goes for a jog. Sure, he disrupts a game, but just listen to the fans. That's as exciting as anything else in baseball. Well, that's not entirely accurate. More accurate: That's as exciting as anything gets in the middle of a Baltimore Orioles regular season game in the middle of July.

And you know, kudos to the security. Sure, they had to act all big and bad when they finally caught Bob -- that is, when Bob finally just stopped and let them grab him. But nobody got tasered. (Tased? Tazered? Tazed? Whatever.) The players got a good laugh. The fans had fun.

This made me happy just to watch.
