Intro

I'm Brandon Sneed. I wrote the book The Edge of Legend, I'm a journalist for GQ, ESPN The Magazine, and ESPN.com, and I edit HeyGoodCall.com

I live for great stories—finding them, telling them, living them. This is a running log of all that. It's a great life. (Read this, my short take on why stories are all that matter.)

This Song Just Got Me Through Some Writing And You'll Love It

"K's Lullaby" by J Minus. Just did some great writing to this amazingness.

Free journalism tip of the day: Be in reasonable shape. I have no idea the kind of shape I'm in. It's not awful but it's not what it once was. All I really know is that I worked out today with my newest story subject. He's a Special Forces captain. I survived, but I'm tired as dirt and sore as ... I don't know, things that are sore. (Hey. I'm tired. Leave me alone. Because...) He also graciously invited me to join him tomorrow morning at 5:45, at which time we're going for a leisurely four-mile run.

I just hope that pickup basketball has kept me in decent enough shape the past couple months so that I don't hurl/cry/completely sully the family name.

Yay, journalism.
