These People are Better People than Me ($45,000 edition)

A family found $45,000 cash in their attic. Then they tracked down its owner and returned it. If, some day in the future when I buy a house, and I find $45,000 in the attic, I probably will not do that. So contratulations to the Ferrin family. You are officially better people than me.

What if you found 45 grand in your attic and you knew it wasn't yours? Keep it? Give it away? Find its original owners? Just keep it, and justify it by figuring you must've had amnesia from when you hid it up there and the time you got it?
