Welcome

I'm Brandon Sneed. This is my blog. It's basically an online notebook where I highlight good writing, storytelling, journalism and other acts of creativity, and explore how such things are made.

I'm an author and journalist who writes about people, sports, science, nature, and more. I love learning, adventures, life, and stories. I've covered everything from a guy who played Division I basketball while battling cancer ... to golf courses that eat golfers ... to turkey vultures invading a town. You can read all those and more below.

Call It!

FIBA proposed 3-on-3 basketball for the 2016 Olympics in Rio. I and my two younger brothers, Kramer and Logan, are totally trying out. Kramer's the 6-4, 200-pound relentless winner. Logan's the 6-2, 190-pound pure shooter who can also dunk. And I'm the 6-1, 195-pound guy who tries to drive and gets blocked and just tries to get some rebounds and not be a liability. We gonna dominate, though. Or something. And I'm writing about the experience for ESPN The Mag or whoever will still let me write for them by then.

All you other writers got that? I've called it. Although you're welcome to get your own team and take your best shot at us. Don't know why you'd want to do that to yourself, though.

SNEEDS IN 2016!

It's gonna be phenomenal.

I'm way too excited about this.
