The First Legend: Meadowlark Lemon in SLAM Magazine

 

Wrote up Meadowlark Lemon for SLAM magazine's issue this month. Don't think the story's online yet, but you can get the magazine from newsstands everywhere, and SLAM editor-in-chief Ben Osborne was gracious enough to allow me to post the PDF version of the Meadowlark story here.

Make sure to grab a copy of the mag if you can, though. It's the first time in its history that they don't feature an athlete on the cover. Instead, they have this rather awesome shot of a basketball on fire.

Upcoming Book Event: Sat., Dec. 18 at Dick's Hot Dogs in Wilson, NC with Ant Atkinson

Harlem Globetrotter and Wilson hometown hero Anthony "Ant" Atkinson, the subject of a new book, "The Edge of Legend," will be at Dick's Hot Dogs in Wilson from 12:30-3 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, to talk to the public. Brandon Sneed, the book's author, will also appear. Both will sign copies of the book.
