Just posted this on Facebook and figured I might as well share it here:
I’ve never done this before, but hey, this is as good a time as any: I’m going to tell you about a story I’m writing and ask for your help with it. Cool? Cool.
So here’s the deal: For SB Nation, I’m writing a big long story about Marvin Jarman. If you’re from Greenville, N.C., he likely needs no introduction, but just in case: Marvin has been to nearly every single J.H. Rose High School football, basketball, and baseball game since 1966, and is a local legend around eastern North Carolina. He works with the local Little Leagues and is basically a human encyclopedia.
I pitched the story as “The Best High School Sports Fan In The Galaxy.” And I’m talking to a bunch of people and hanging out with Marvin and doing all the usual reporting, but I also wanted to throw this out there to see what you all had to say about Marvin.
What are some of your favorite Marvin memories? What are some of the best Marvin stories you can think of? What else should I know?
Pop on over to my Facebook page to leave a comment or message me, or you can just email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
